The New Tampa Tigers’ Pee Wee Pop Warner cheerleading squad has made history as the first cheer team in the New Tampa Pop Warner Sports Association’s history to place in the top five teams in the nation.

On December 6, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, the New Tampa girls went up against 11 other top squads in the Pee Wee Medium/Intermediate division, where they won fifth.

Just before the national competition (on November 27), the girls placed second in Southwest Pop Warner Regional Championship competition in Kissimmee.

The cheerleading squad, made up of 22 girls, is lead by coaches Stacey Thomas, Krista Davidson and Dawn James.

The members of the team include Ali Feltner, Meghan Bronner, Lindsey Ferguson, Allison Hill, McKenzie Snow, RyanLynn Waugh, Lindsay Hartman, Sophie Davidson, Avery Thomas, Liviana Schmidt, Serena Gadson, Amanda Spurlin, Danielle Shanberg, Tamia Payne, Julia Gaziano, Abigail Owusu, Bre'Yonna Marshall, Melanie Ramirez, Alexandra Jorge, Mallori Page, Claudia McDermott, Shayne Azzi and Marissa Coringrato.
