Pinellas County will soon be taking fluoride out of its drinking water to due to a vote by County Commissioners (4-3) to have it removed. What you may not be aware of is that taking fluoride out of our drinking water will cause long term health issues, will cost taxpayers millions of dollars annually, and that this vote looks to set off a domino effect, with other Bay area counties looking to follow suit, including our very own
Hillsborough County.

The death of New Tampa resident Noah Kushner, 16, has been ruled a suicide by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office, after he was found lifeless on Nov. 15, near the University of South Florida (USF), just one day after he was reported missing by his parents, Beatrice and Bruce Kushner.

The construction of New Tampa’s newest home for local fire fighters is currently under way and if all goes according to plan, Tampa Fire Rescue (TFR) Station No. 22 will roll out its top-of-the-line Advanced Life Support (ALS) truck sometime in mid-February 2012.

Over the next several months, residents will see even more temporary traffic shifts on Bruce B. Downs (BBD) Blvd., in addition to new work on the entrance and exit ramps for I-75, as part of the widening of the interstate between Fowler Ave. and S.R. 54 in Pasco County. Also, new traffic signals, drainage construction and utility work will also be taking place between Commerce Palms Dr. and Dona Michelle Dr., which could mean temporary lane closures (at night) near the interstate.

Congratulations to U.S. Army Sgt. Joel Tavera and his family, who recently became the recipients of the ninth home given away to wounded veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars by “Building Homes for Heroes” (HFH), a nonprofit organization whose mission is as amazing to me as the stories of the wounded soldiers and their families.
