WRH Students Mourn Former Coach Chris Bounnell’s Passing

The students and staff at Wiregrass Ranch High (WRH) are still in shock over the unexpected death of Chris Bounnell, a popular sports coach and science teacher who touched the lives of many of his students. A crisis intervention team has been made available to provide counseling to any students or teachers at the school to help cope with their loss.

Rebecca Hawk, 23, a child protective investigator for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, was found dead of carbon monoxide poisoning.

New Tampa Woman’s Death From Fumes Ruled An Accident

After a two-week long investigation led by Tampa Police Department (TPD) homocide detectives, the State Attorney’s Office has ruled that no charges will be filed against Andrew Grywalski, 22, a New Tampa man who, police say, forgot to turn off the ignition in his car, which left one of his neighbors dead. Officials with the Tampa Police Department (TPD) are calling the death a “terrible accident.”

Jared Cano, the former Freedom High student who has been charged as an adult for planning to blow up the school, has pleaded “not guilty.”

Expelled Student Pleads ‘Not Guilty’ For Plans To Bomb Freedom

The attorney for expelled former Freedom High student, Jared Michael Cano, 17 (who was described as a “quiet loner” by his peers), has pleaded “not guilty” for his alleged plans to kill Freedom students and staff members on the first day of school. If convicted, the teenager could face up to 35 years in prison. The State Attorney’s Office is charging Cano, 17, as an adult.

GrillSmith Restaurants Donate Profits For Slain New Tampa Siblings

Thanks to the combined efforts of Col. Parker Schenecker and the six GrillSmith restaurant locations in the Tampa Bay area, a foundation named in honor of Schenecker’s children now has $10,500 in its coffers.

Wesley Chapel’s First Synagogue Opens In Time For High Holy Days

After years of meeting in hotel conference rooms, and composing services in the living rooms of each other’s homes, the Jewish community in Wesley Chapel now has a synagogue to call its own and it is open just in time for the upcoming High Holy Days.

John J. Chiarelli, P.E., from Pasco County’s Project Management department, said that the S.R. 54 widening should be finished by the first week in December.

It can never be soon enough for anyone who live or works near S.R./C.R. 54 from west of I-75 to just east of Curley Rd., but the good news from the Pasco County Project Management- Design department is that the widening of S.R./C.R. 54 is expected to be completed and open to the public by the first week in December.
