Heritage Ford To Help WCH Football

Depending upon how many people come out to test drive cars from the new Ford lineup — including the Focus, Fiesta, Explorer, The Edge and the F150 truck — the Wesley Chapel High (WCH) varsity and JV football teams could earn up to $8,000 in donations.
Heritage Ford and The Ford Motor Company will host a “Drive One 4 Ur School Event” on Thursday, October 20, 3 p.m.-8 p.m., at Wesley Chapel High. Ford will donate $20 up to $6,000 to the WCH football program for every person who test drives a car at the school. Additionally, Ford will donate up to an extra $2,000 for people who test drive the newly designed Ford Focus.
WCH coach Ben Alford says that the football teams could definetly use the extra money
“We are up from 80 players last year to 100 this year,” said Alford. “We don’t even enough helmets for all of our players.”
According to Heritage Ford spokesperson Jennifer Cofini, the event is being held at WCH because of the on-going construction on S.R. 54 outside the dealership.
During the five-hour event, there also will be giveaways for everyone who test drives a vehicle and all participants also will be entered into a raffle to win a $100 gift card to Best Buy.
“If we get 300 people to come out and test drive a car, that’s at least $6,000 we have for new equipment,” said Alford.
To test drive a car, the participant must be at least 18-years-old and have a valid driver’s license. The “Drive One 4 Ur School Event” is taking place on the day of the WCH vs. Hudson High football game, which is a “Breast Cancer Awareness Game” that starts at 7:30. WCH will wear pink decals on their helmets for the game. There also will be “Trick or Treating” around the track for the little ones before the game (starting at 6:30 p.m.).
Wesley Chapel High is located at 30651 Wells Rd., while Heritage Ford is located at 28739 S.R. 54. For more information, you can call Jennifer Cofini at 907-7800.
