One in six Americans — that’s over 50 million — experience hearing loss at some point in life. Those who experience permanent hearing loss may never be able to hear the same again.
To raise money and awareness for hearing health initiatives in Tampa Bay, USF’s College of Behavioral and Community Sciences (CBCS) is partnering with the Tampa Gem Sertoma Club and the Sertoma Collegiate Club @ USF Tampa to host the third annual CELEBRATE SOUND Don’t Walk in Silence®.
The event is a 1.5 mile fun walk taking place 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 8 at USF’s MLK Plaza. A quarter of the money raised will be donated directly to USF’s College of Behavioral and Community Sciences to fund hearing health-related research and equipment. Walk participants can look forward to free food, drinks, raffle prizes and activities held by community partners involved with Tampa hearing health initiatives.
Come walk with us and help change lives in our Tampa Bay communities!
