On Sunday, May 6th at 4:00 PM in the USF School of Music Concert Hall, the Florida Wind Band is pleased to present the fourth concert of its eleventh season, Rhapsody in Blue. A crowd-pleasing musical compilation of favorite melodies and exceptional works, this concert will feature two of the country’s finest artist with solos on their respective instruments. As the title indicates, the Band will perform George Gershwin’s masterpiece, Rhapsody in Blue. The soloist is Agnieszka Zick, a nationally renowned pianist. Also on the program is the Concertino for Trombone by Lars Erik Larsson, featuring USF Professor of Trombone, Tom Brantley.
Other selections will include Leonard Bernstein’s Overture to Candide, and Jericho Rhapsody by Morton Gould. Join the Florida Wind Band on May 6th in celebration of the virtuosity and musicianship of these extraordinary soloists, and enjoy the Band as they perform music that you are sure to find both delightful and memorable.
